Meet your Regional Officers!
NV/CA Regional Officers have an amazing opportunity to develop leadership skills as they work with the regional leadership team to plan and facilitate regional events. Regional officers provide oversight and assistance to local chapters.
Officer Statements:
Alexis Tovar: Hey everyone, my names Alexis Tovar and I’m your NV/CA regional President. I’m from the Beta Phi Lambda chapter at Lemoore College. Although I did move around a lot when I was younger, I was primarily raised in a very small town that had limited resources. However, this taught me to capitalize on the opportunities that were presented. PTK is one of those opportunities that has shown me the value of ambition. I hold pride in knowing that I am an active member of PTK. Outside of my academic ventures, I enjoy taking on entrepreneurial endeavors as it is one of my greatest passions. Additionally, I enjoy going on runs, hikes, and practicing boxing. There is no shortage of new things I love to try.
Conor Morger: Hello everyone, my name is Conor Morger. I am your NV/CA VP of Technologies. I am from the Beta Theta Omnicron Chapter of Skyline College. I grew up north of the Bay Area, however, I chose to move here on my own after high school to experience the exhilarating and interesting place it is. I am attending college right now to get my degree in finance. It keeps me busy, and in my free time, I like being a part of PTK, as it teaches us many skills, while we serve all of our chapters. It is a wonderful organization. As officers, we grow with experience daily, while having fun. In the rest of my free time, I like to see things and stay active. I am delighted to be one of your officers. I am looking forward to a great year with this team.
Codie Lai: Hello everyone! It is great to meet you all! My name is Codie Lai and I am your newly appointed 2024 - 2025 VP of Communications for the Neveda/California Region. I am from the Beta Theta Omicron Chapter at Skyline College where I am looking to study mechanical engineering. I grew up in a small suburban area where imagining, designing, and creating thing has been my form of creative expression, which is why I chose to pursue engineering. In my spare time, I love to cook and make food. Pastas, curries, anything that you can think of I can probably make or I will certainly try to make it! Besides that, I like to workout and play sports, and overall, just enjoy and appreciate the outdoors. Now, PTK has been a monumental change and step forward during my community college journey. I have been able to meet so many incredible people and given so many wonderful opportunities for growth. As such, I hope I can help you all experience the same thing. Anyways, I look forward to what is coming next.
Howard Qin: Hello everyone, my name is Howard Qin, and I'm your NV/CA regional Vice President of the Northwest District. I come from a chapter at Cañada College. Growing up, I developed a deep fascination with cars and mechanics, which eventually led me to pursue a degree in physics. However, my interests extend far beyond just the automotive world. I'm an avid reader of Norse mythology, finding inspiration in the tales of gods and heroes. When I'm not buried in books or class assignments, you can find me at the gym, pushing my limits and staying fit. I also have a passion for music, particularly the genres of pop and heavy metal, which fuel my energy and drive. One of my greatest aspirations is to work on the development team of an Italian sports car factory, where I can combine my love for cars and engineering. But that's not all – I also have ambitions to delve into the realm of quantum computers, with the goal of revolutionizing the way we develop new AI technologies. As your Vice President, I'm here to support you and ensure that your experience with PTK is rewarding and enriching. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to me at nvcavpn.w.d@gmail.com. I'm excited to work with all of you and help you achieve your academic and personal goals.
